Discovering the Hidden Gem: Jing Thai Restaurant

Located in the heart of Seri Kembangan, Jing Thai Restaurant is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Thai culinary experience. As we stepped into this unassuming eatery, we were greeted by two human-sized Thai woman statues at the entrance, setting the tone for a delightful dining adventure.

The restaurant's rustic charm is evident in its timber and traditional attap roof architecture, while the pebble-stone walkways add a touch of elegance to the overall ambiance. The open courtyard in the middle of the restaurant is an excellent spot to enjoy a chilled beer under the stars on a warm evening.

Our culinary journey began with the Pan-fried Prawn with Oatmeal (RM 28.00), which was cooked to perfection. The prawns were deep-fried with egg yolk until golden and crispy, then tossed with cereal, curry leaves, chili, butter, and creamer. This dish was a revelation – it was fiery, sourish, and utterly delicious.

Next, we tried the Tom Yum Nam Sai (RM 20.00), a staple Thai dish that embodies the entire range of Thai flavors in a single bowl. The flavors were bold and harmonious, with a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy notes.

The Thai-style Bean Curd (RM 10.00) was another highlight – crispy deep-fried bean curd served with special Thai sauce that added a sweet, sour, and spicy twist to the dish. The combination of textures and flavors worked beautifully together.

No Thai meal is complete without Tom Yum Goong, so we included this pot of ordinary-looking goodness in our order. It may not look like much, but trust us – it's a game-changer. Each spoonful was a masterclass in balance and harmony, with the spicy and sour notes perfectly offsetting each other.
